Suzie Vinnick

A Saskatoon native transplanted to the Niagara Region of Ontario, Suzie Vinnick is the proud owner of a gorgeous voice, impressive guitar and bass chops, and an engagingly candid performance style. Her career has seen triumph after triumph. Some of her recent successes include the 2024 Canadian Folk Music Award (CFMA) for Contemporary Singer of the Year, a 2024 ECMA for Blues Album of the Year (for her project A’Court, Spiegel and Vinnick), the 2023 Maple Blues Acoustic Act of the Year, and the 2019 Saskatchewan Jazz Festival Special Recognition Award. In addition to a dozen Maple Blues Awards and her two Canadian Folk Music Awards, Suzie is also a three-time JUNO nominee. Fans of Folk Harbour don’t need the list of awards to appreciate her talents, as we have been able to see Suzie on our Festival stages dating back to 2004. She has performed solo, as a duo with Rick Fines, and as part of the vocal trio, The Marigolds, always displaying her engaging stage presence and her prowess in the blues, folk, and roots worlds. Her most recent recording is Fall Back Home (2022).
